Got our first chance to chat with Bartlesville High head football coach Harry Wright before the Bruins playoff battle.

BHS heads to Putnam City to take on the Pirates in the first round of the 6A-II postseason. Winner will get state-title-favorite Muskogee in round two.

Bartlesville won three games in a row at the end of the regular season to finish fifth in its District. Roster turnover, an easier schedule and improved play all got the Bruins into this spot.

Wright says he is excited about the confidence his team has heading into Friday night’s game.

Bruin running back and freshman Daeton Stevens has been a big reason why BHS has had improved results. Stevens is friends with fellow freshman quarterback Michael Kent, who has started the past three weeks.

Two of Stevens three touchdowns have come the past three weeks. Stevens says Bartlesville has been locked in over the past month and is excited for the playoffs.

A 7:00 kick with a 6:30 pregame on Friday night, Bartlesville at Putnam City.

We will have it for you on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 and KWONTV.com.
